June 9th Edelweiss Bracelet

Sally Bates of Sally Bead Jewelry will be with us to show us how to complete this Edelweiss Bracelet designed by Janet Nijman of the Netherlands.

If you are familiar with the traditional 8 cord round braid, this new six-cord structure will be a breeze.  If you were to braid with just seed beads the overall braid would look like a skinnier version of the eight cord.  Much like the seven-cord braid is thinner than the 8, this new structure can come in handy if you are in need of a skinnier more dainty braid.

In class you will learn how to load the pointed long magatamas in such a way to form the Edelweiss flowers that dance across the bracelet.

Sally will have kits made up in many color ways.  Kits are $20. You will need a normal 32-slot Kumihimo Disk.  Sally will have some if you are in need of a new one.  And a Kumihimo weight (if you normally use one).  Bobbins or spring clips are nice to have, but using a stop bead will be fine.
The kits will contain the 8° seed beads, fringe drops, long magatamas, cLon cord and a crimp-style ending.  CTBS will provide lobster claw clasps or you can purchase a clasp from Sally.
